About the Course

The PADI® Deep Diver Specialty Course is designed for certified divers who are ready to take their underwater exploration to the next level. Diving deeper than 18 metres/60 feet opens the door to incredible new experiences—whether it’s exploring dramatic wall dives, discovering shipwrecks resting in the deep, or simply experiencing the unique thrill of depth.

Throughout this course, you will gain the knowledge and skills to plan and safely conduct dives up to 40 metres/130 feet under the supervision of a professional PADI Instructor. You’ll practice advanced dive planning, learn effective techniques for gas supply management, and understand how to recognize and respond to the effects of narcosis. In addition, you’ll refine your buoyancy control at depth, master buddy contact procedures, and enhance your awareness of the extra safety considerations that come with deeper dives.

How to Start Deep Diving

Once you dive below 18 metres/60 feet, conditions change, and additional skills are essential to ensure safety and enjoyment. The PADI Deep Diver Course equips you with the confidence to go deeper while staying in control.

Under the direct guidance of your PADI Instructor, you will complete four deep dives over two to three days. Each dive builds on the last, giving you hands-on experience in:

• Planning and executing deep dives

• Managing your breathing gas effectively

• Recognizing and handling the physiological effects of depth

• Improving buoyancy control in challenging environments

• Practicing emergency and safety procedures specific to deep diving

Upon completion, you will be certified to explore depths of up to 40 metres/130 feet, opening up new possibilities for adventure and exploration.
